History

Our Legacy:

The Overseas Chinese Association School Birmingham was found in 1965 with only 4 students. 46 years later we now are proud to have over 350 students learning Chinese  Mandarin and Chinese Cantonese across 26 classrooms.

It is run by volunteers and members of various Chinese Societies in Birmingham who offer their time and support towards this registered charity school.

We regularly participate shows and performances in local celebrations in the community  . Every year , we have a prize giving ceremony to praise students’ hard working, which includes performances and prizes.

School Honors:

This honour was from the Overseas Chinese Affairs Council and by the China Overseas Exchange Association of the PRC state Council.

OCAS Birmingham was also one of only 3 Chinese schools in the UK honored with the award for excellence in Chinese language education and dedication to promoting Chinese culture overseas.

In 2010, we were one of only 3 other Chinese Schools in the UK that were rates as providing excellent Chinese education.

And Finally..

We are proud to be active contributors to the Birmingham Society. In addition to our end-of-year performances, our students have also performed on stage for the city’s Chinese New Year celebrations in the Arcadian, Birmingham City Center. All our members are proud to be involved with the Chinese community and efforts of the school. If you are interested in helping us out then contact us.
